Ask him to attend interviews to understand his skill levels. Then he can understand what is required to develop himself and get required skills for his hard work

Dear Shweta,

I have hotel background albeit for a brief period. However, it is sufficient to give comments on your post. My observations are as below:

a) First and foremost he is your "fiancé" (and not "fiancée"). You are his "fiancée".

b) You have not given his background of work i.e. is he from F & B (Production) or F & B (Service), Housekeeping, Front Office or Sales? What is his designation?

c) You have written that "have 7 years of experience in the same industry at good hotels but he is not getting what he deserve". But then you have not written what he "deserves"?

d) Hard work is part and parcel of hotelier's life. They need to work for six days and average working day lasts for 10-12 hours or even more. This does not leave them any room to develop their general knowledge or remaining in touch with the subjects what they studied in the BHM. Nevertheless, he works hard is yours or his perception. We need to know views of his GM or VP.

d) Entire hotel industry (at least in India) give enormous importance to verbal communication skills. So how are his communication skills? Does he have good command over English?

e) The basic problem with hospitality industry is that they deal with very basic issues throughout their life and they do not give much regard to the "analytical skills". One who develops the analytical skills, starts scaling up very fast.

f) In most of the hotels there is tremendous shortage of quality manpower. Still newer and newer hotels or hotel chains are coming up. Even then also why is he not getting right job?

As a solution I recommend him going through his course contents once again. He should develop supporting skills like computer skills. He should know basics of finance as well.

All the best to him and your future conjugal life as well.

Hi there!
I agree with Mr. Divekar!
He should go through his books, practical knowledge & trainings. No body can help him except himself. He has to take ladder to climb.
First 3-4 years are of utmost struggle everywhere specially in hospitality industry.
He has to be prepared for interview questions & answers. Current trends in hospitality & his own & his superiors job description along with nature of work!
Hope this helps!

Hi Dinesh,
First of all have misspelled Fiance as 'Fiancee' by mistake.I konw 'He is my fiance & I am his fiancee',The extra 'e' in the end depends on the gender: if you are a girl, you would be a man's fiancee. The way you have pointed out is not at all correct, requesting you to take care it in future.
For your information he is from F&B & I have posted this post to get suggestions for his higher studies, means as he is having degree in Hotel Management,so what next he can pursue to get more opportunities in his field. My concern is "should he go to the any one of the following below degrees & which one would be the best among the given below degrees as per his background & experience.
Master In Tourism
Master In Hospitality Management
Master In Event Managemen

Waiting for the genuine suggestions from all.
