We also have the same experience with our client "Havmore Insurance Brokers" in Mumbai. We have placed the candidate Prashant Tambe with them with lot of efforts on senior position in corporate strategy. They have taken the interview, given offer letter to the candidate. when we have asked them for his payment details the next day they have forwarded one email from the candidate which was showing that he was not interested for job. (please note that the candidate have not informed us but informed the company HR by mail). we also thought that he must be not interested and the candidate was not picking the phone also. After a time span we have checked the social websites like linkedin and other job sites he have updated his profile and it was surprised for us that he had mentioned the same month and year for which he have accepted offer letter from the company. We have tried to speak to the HR- Ms Pradnya from Havmore she had given some different answers then told that the candidate was informed by Mr Manek (working on senior position with them) through his references. After several follow ups she have denied that the candidate is not introduced by us anytime. We have tried to speak to the senior - MD - Mr Hamang for the same. He have taken a long time to come back to us, after so many mails, calls he finally said that his department is not doing any wrong but the candidate have joined after three months when he had taken offer letter so not considering us for his introduction. The company is doing malpractices in terms of not just HR but other also. So consultants beware from this company. i had given very good candidates to them but now i feel that there must many more candidates i must placed to them and they have not informed me. They dont have proper HR set up but do this kind of cheating with the cosultants who put their lot of efforts for giving good candidates.

Hello All,
This is a very serious concern with consultants like us. We have come across couple of unprofessional employers who refuses to pay on time, or even bother pay for that matter. What they don't understand is the time and effort of recruiters and the support that we provided most importantly "when they really wanted the support"
A public forum is a great thought, and I can work on that as well, at least in the region where we service.
My question is, is there any legal constrains on publicly naming or mentioning these Companies? Getting into trouble for this is the last thing that I want at the moment :)

If your facts are true,then you can easily defend your position.
Clearly bring out how the company is avoiding making due payments as agreed upon during consultancy process.
Lack of ethics needs to be highlighted in legal and correct terms.
Company may threaten legal actions and other types of pressure by approaching other competitors in same line etc.
Be ready for defending your position but you should not hesitate naming companies after all efforts to sort out the matter is done.
But ensure that your side is clear and there are no skeletons in your cupboard.
