Chitra no issues dear and thanks for your response on this.....see as we all know what is wrong and what is right for us but sometime people try to get the easiest way to establish him/herself and use this kind of thing but in that way, they never realize what they can lose by doing so..I was just conveying that one must not use this kind of fake profile/experience etc bcz one can use this in profile but cant get it in practical which is the basic and actually requirement.

I told the people here in my earlier response that to be a fresher is not a crime and we all were a fresher in our life initially and have started from 0. Also have given the example of Campus recruitment and basic education/skills example to clear what one should do or what not..

Also you dont need to say sorry or anything bcz the criticism is also important for all of us bcz it give us more chances to learn and develop ourselves in right prospect.

I personally feel that every one must accept this reality ..

"There is no one who can prove you wrong or right accept yourself ..initially you are the one who knows yourself better then any other one"

Guys do whatever you feel from your heart is right for you and for your future...Best of Luck

By and large I have learnt a great deal, having said that I will still take side with shyamali on his/her stands in her admonish statement.
Anilkr.arora, please take note of the correction and replicate in your further judgements.
In the same light it is also right to give a fresher as it may a fair ground to introduce his/ her difference into the coy and not to keep them at bay with the experience thing “everybody started from zero” Anilkr.arora.
HR is truly and thoroughly professional, do what you preach.

Thanks for your understanding, sometimes ENGLISH does not communicate our thought the way we intended reasons for interpretation being thought in school.
But we can express our thought in a very mild way so that it give grace to the hearer.
consider this statement, common bring that biro for me. sounds harmless but the undertone depict unwarranted authorisation. I hope you get what shyamali was trying to communicate.
look at this one, give me that biro over there.
my thoughts though.

Anil, being a senior member, you need to reply appropriately. I dnt think the person who raised this post is out of his/her mind. There are definitely many fake resumes, & by asking this question, we may just find out and contribute to ideas that help us to identify fake resumes. Nothing personal but the moment i read the start "Are you out of ur mind?" ....... i asked the same question to you. I dnt think the person has raised any unethical question. CiteHr also has posts of love, and if that is acceptable, question for fake resumes is definitely much more important and relevant to HR practices.

That's ok Anil. Life is not fair, but we need to move on. I'm sure everyone including me have had to bear the brunt because of fake resumes.
Blaming Satyasarthi and me about faking resumes amounts to slander. I think you should apologize to both of us.

I cannot understand why you are so defensive and offensive about fake resumes. It actually poses as a headache to recruiters and companies. Training costs escalates. Kindly take cognizance of the matter and advise accordingly. Kindly control the urge to be judgmental. Try to keep a neutral view of things.

Sathyasarthi First, as far as the problem goes you might go for a background verification post selection of the candidate/existing employees, the depth of which depends on the level/position. There are companies which will assist you in this.

In case you cannot afford them, you can always verify what is on resume by seeking references from their previous organization. You can ask them to fill a ref check form and have it sent through mail id. Where there are bulk hires, its best to outsource this job.

Second, a small aptitude test/practical demonstration will go a long way to catch the fakers. If you are working as a recruitment consultant, you may collaborate with your client on how to catch such candidates.

Thirdly, if the skill set is an absolute pre-requisite for the job, then any remaining apprehensions can be removed in the interview(recommended to seek client's help).

Lastly, it's not easy to catch all the fakes at the same time. They keep innovating so even you need to innovate. Try to look for data inconsistencies, and prob it in an interview.

Most liers will generally flounder or never give any valid explanations .

Greetings,
The discussion was raised to find out the signs in a fake resume. Here are few of the points:
  • The areas covered are broad and wordy , without being specific and data oriented.
  • Operational details will be few
  • The propensity to push the resumes for a higher level responsibility than, what the designation says.
  • The client oriented information would be minimal.
  • Tall claims about accomplishments.
  • Technical skills as shared would differ from what the individual shares in the introductory phone call. Most of the time, individuals dont remember what they have put in the resumes.
Incase there are more technical ways to test, please share.
