Dear Mr. Nilotpal,
I can suggest you one thing it might help you,
Never run from any bad situation like this it may occurs again again, so try to fight first for your right.
Pls. write a mail to your last manager(who gave negative feedback)with BCC of your present HR manager and last HR Manager acquisition the same kind of blame like:" Sir from reliable source i got to know that you wanted to terminate me, do you have any proof that i have been terminated, or mail or written warning letter that my performance was bad or so and so. if u don't have then stop try ruining my career or else i will go legal without having a second thought, because of your misbehavior I'm now force to join a new company."
So if you are true to yourself then see how its works. That your last manager will defiantly answer to your mail if he don't just send him reminder mail again again with a BCC of your present HR Manager. and informed your present manager that you always true to yourself and your last Boss is only trying ruin your career.
Best of luck...

Hi,
I can understand what phase you are going through, I need to highlight some points on your hiring if you consider it, and you won’t fall in any hassle in future.
Even in our organization we do background verification from a Third party
All they do is scrutinizing of your over all CV provided, starting from your education qualification, family background, address proof provided, Id proof provided, all employment documents, even salary slip is verified by the bank if done by NEFT,
Candidates do provide fake document like reliving, appointment letter, fake salary slip and fake references, so verifier visits the Co and do the verification some times.
Request you to provide all documents genuinely, even I have came across many such cases as an HR for company benefit also need to terminate such employee but they are very well intimated might your Co doesn’t have such policy

Dear Terry,
It is good to be straight forward and stick to your rights but in the present case pursuing the matter at any level will amount to waste of your energy, time and money. There are many things in life which we do not like/relish, which we leave as such to avoid unnecessary tension. I suggest the same in your case too.

Dear Nilotpal
I will tell you to proceed further as advised by Sutapa Sarkar. If you do so, then your present HR Manager will feel that you are not at all in wrong side and they may further reinstate you in the same company. If you feel so, then you can join or simply quit. The quitting part must be of your choice and not on the choice of the company.
Further after writing the letter to your previous manager as said by Sutapa Sarkar, please add few more lines that if you are not receiving any reply within 5 days from the receipt of this letter, you will be forced to approach court of law and you will file defamation case against the manager. Surely you will get immediate reply from that company and with that reply you can prove your correctness with new company as well as you can save your future career too.

Wonder what HR policies does this new company follow. They have interviewed you and found u fit for the job hence they gave u the offer letter. I always believed that HR should finish all the verification checks before the candidates join the company. If they find any issue with the verification then the candidate should be informed immediately so that the candidate does not resign from his old company. Basically candidates are given 1 months time to serve notice before joining and this 1 month is enough for the hiring company to do all the verification checks. Hiring someone and then asking him to leave within 15 days is not a good practice.

Dear Gentleman,
Since You have not mentioned your name I do not have any other way to address the original sender of the mail.
I am HR Consultant and conducting background verification as a part of HR service, since 6 years across south India. We are a registered MSME Organisation in Chennai under the banner of Management Information Resources Auditors
( MIRA). We have carried out 100s of background checks including educational, employment, criciminal and standard of living for serving and to be employed candidates.
I am not interested in elaborating our process of verification as this is not a business mail. From my experience I can easily say that something somewhere went wrong in your previous employment. It could be relationship, attitude, business transaction, financial dealings and finally conduct. A genuine HR or responsible Head in any organisation irrespective of size and the industry you worked for earlier would not certainly and knowingly give wrong feedback. You could have been a party to a financial error or business loss knowingly or unknowingly without realising the consequences.
If you could rewind your employment history you may get some clues. Try and do the damage control action at the moment. As consultant all that I can say is that I ( MIRA)would conduct independent background check of your 10 years of employment not over phone but through our process and send a report to this cite founder or representative on his personal e-mail.Absolutely without any charge or fees if it is anywhere in South India. And any responsible top management member in Cite HR or founder team decide the outcome and communicate to you .
I would like to know the views of other members or founder of this cite in this regard. I am trying to help you if your claims are genuine.
Best Wishes

Greetings,
I appreciate the help and support provided by V. Rangarajan. A special back ground verification requested by the candidate is a sound idea to check, where one stands in terms of feedback from past employers. There is a similar process in Nasscom. However, I wish to know how far does the employers value this kind of a certification? Many a times employers prefer initiating their own process.
Here's requesting the recruiters and recruiting managers, please share at the hiring stage, how far would you value a pre-hire verification and merit certification, as initiated by a candidate?
