Dear all,
I have a query from all CiteHR members, and I guess it's becoming serious day by day.
In most organizations, especially when HR hiring takes place, the basic criterion is that a person should be an MBA-HR from a reputed institute. I understand this. Most organizations are particular about MBA-Full-time courses, and I understand this too. Now, the issue arises when a person is excellent in all areas and can be considered for an HR position but has done an MBA-Part-time/DLP (Distance Learning Program); then the person is rejected immediately. WHY? Is it because of not meeting the criteria? If this is the selection criterion, then why are such courses approved?
I want to understand why, if the person is excellent, he/she is not given an opportunity. According to me, this is baseless.
Please give your opinion on this.
Hi!
I can personally understand this situation quite well. While this could be considered as a valid attitude in hiring freshers in the HR field, once a person has been in the HR field in a good company for about 2 years, ideally, this should not hinder his further progress.
I suggest one shouldn't be disheartened and should continue to add to one's arsenal with further HR courses via DLP, while working in a company. They can do no harm at the least.

Dear all,
So far, I have come to know that these DLP programs will be beneficial for those who are already engaged in a full-time job. Any vacancy that requires experience and specific qualifications is considered on par by the employer. However, I may add, if this is true, then why are unemployed or part-time employees allowed to enroll?
Thank you.

Agree, the same.
But the thing is that there is a difference in the learning manner. Most of the time in full-time mode, they execute proper validation (government norms) of the course. They conduct proper industrial visits for students, which are essential for academic purposes. Proper presentations (PPT) are conducted. A proper method of examinations (NO FAVORS, only government norms apply, like proper examination center, proper examination seat number, proper online results, proper supervisory faculty, etc.). Regular attendance with a pre-decided attendance percentage.
The above points were not maintained in DLP.
Right now, a new question arises: if any student knows the above-mentioned five basic rules, then why would he/she enroll in such a DLP course instead of going for a full-time course?
Now, if we talk about financial problems or time limits, I suggest you talk to an education counselor, your friends, or your family members about this problem. Asking for help does not mean you are small.
But remember, there is no shortcut in education.
