Please explain what do you mean by remote locations ?..
Whether the place of posting is temp or in permanent nature?.
Whether the amenties like school, housing & hosp are available ?..
Hardship allowance is generally not given as it becomes taxable..instead what the companies do is address the above issues like housing & buses for the children for schooling..

My Question is exactly matching with the subject, but different sector, different segment of employees who are getting hardship allowances. Few Drivers who are dedicated to top management, staying within office premises, are getting paid hardship allowance for continuously available on call. What term should be appropriate. Another allowances which are paid to employees who are having their laptop, who deserve laptop from organisation will get fix allowances for using their own data card and Laptop. Please advise the right term for these allowances. Thx
