If your contractor is not paying your salary within seven days of close of the wage month, you can approach the Principal employer for whom you work. He is liable to pay it to you. The Contractor may be innocent though he is bound to pay wages even if he has not received the bill amount from the principal employer. But at the same time, the principal employer is also responsible to check and ensure that you people are getting your salaries in time. Therefore, please talk to the Principal employer directly. If he also closes the doors, then you should take the step of approaching the Labour Officer concerned with a dispute of non payment of wages.
