I would like to know what all components of the wages are considered in the maximum limit of 21000. If an employee is working on a 12 hour shift, will the maximum limit of 21000 be calculated on the wages for 12 hours, which includes OT wages for 4 hours. Please confirm. I can be reached at or

Dear PKKurian ji,
Name PKKurian has big identity. Same way ISS.
You can not hire a service of any person for more than 8 hours in a day. Remaining 4 hours should be treated as overtime and should be paid at double the rate. You can not keep any person throughout 4 hours overtime daily.
The wages calculated in your industry treating the wage rate for 12 hours per day is wrong.
ESI threshold limit of Rs.21000 is for 8 hours duty which is inclusive of all allowances paid monthly or paid bi-monthly, excluding (washing allowance in Maharashtra).
