Hello ,
I'm a bca graduate and doing MBA (HR and IS) in corres, I was not much interested to get into technical and wanted to become HR ( had no idea about it until I got in the job that there are a lot of parts in it ) and I joined a recruitment company and working as a consultant which includes screening and shortlisting the candidates as per the Clint needs. Now I.m confused about my career and future as how will it be, my friend told that there is no good future if I work in consultancies and need to get into a corporate .Its a year commitment I have to give to this company and its been a month now . My question is what are my options being a recruitment consultant and how good will my career and future be.
Kindly guide me with your valuable advice I.m very much confused and depressed thinking about this .
Thanks in advance

Hi
There is nothing as such, if you work in consultancy will not get exposure... If you are really interested in the same profile, get the complete process knowledge, acquire the required skills and understand the tricks, which will give you more exposure in future, rather than looking for an exposure at the current stage. Don't get demotivated or depressed, good opportunity will come once you become expertise in that.

Dear Rao,
As Mr. Sourav said, you should have a knowledge on the function or you should have a interest to learn. There are many people who are working in corporates who started their careers in consultancy. However it depends on your interest of subject, if you like to do recruitmnet you can learn real time knowledge and exposure in Consultancies than Corporates. If you are interest on other functions of HR, till you get an opportunity you can do your recruitmnet job wit. And having a recruitment function to your resume gives an advantage in your future, your profile will be shortlisted for HR generalist positions as well where others can't.
So i suggest you to do your recruitment job till you get your salary, satisfaction on time. and simultaneously serach out for the jobs in Corporate, once you get an opportunity switch out.
