Hi Seniors,
Ours is a BPO, one of our tenured employee of almost 3 years, walked out of office while at work, he was told if he achieved his targets he was allowed to leave early. Unconvinced he left without permission. Operations do not want him on floor. Is it right to terminate him on disciplinary grounds without a warning??

I think without warning is ok, provided the policy is in place and was intimated to the employee. However, ensure you follow the procedure set for your company and follow principal of natural justice. He must be given an opportunity if being heard

dear vijaya s,
Please issue him a charge sheet and conduct a domestic enquiry. The chargesheet can be for insubordination, negligence of duty or other charges as per standing orders applicable to you i.e. model or certified. Only if the misconduct is proved, then based on past record you can issue termination. Else, he will file a complaint for reinstatement with back wages for illegal termination.
