Hi All
I have joined as HR in a new organisation. I have no experience in hr. Can anyone please explain how to set up a HR department from the scratch or the roles of HR manager in a new organisation. I know the question requires an elaborate answer. But if someone just give me glimpse i will be grateful.

Hi,
First of all it depends on how big is ur organisation. If the total number of employees are less than 200 you can manage it by urself and an HR assistant . You will have to prepare a HR handbook- with all the procedures and policies. And communicate clearly with the employees what they can expect from the HR department as you said they didnt have a HR team before.

Dear Mintu,
Hadyou searched CiteHr using the links at the right sidebar under Similar Topics you would have found some answers at https://www.citehr.com/322911-roles-hr-manager.html
Could you also please tell us your background and the size of the organisation? I only hope you have not used your real name, as some people who read this may form a poor opinion about your lack of experience.
Have a nice day

Hi
Thanks to all. A special one to Mr. Asif Mulla. Your attachment is quite informative. @ Zubin Kapadia I didnt say that I am working as HR Manager. I just wanted to know the roles. I am still working as an executive. The company is a new company. They havent hired HR mgr yet. I was thinking to set up some basic things before they hire the HR mgr. Anything wrong in that??

Hello Mintz,
While there are plenty of sources online to help you knowledge wise, it is important to allign a HR dept according to the top management philosophy. In fact you can find best of books online as well for guidance, but there is one book called HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT by C B GUPTA. This book is suggested even for people who are specializing in HRM in MBA. This is thorough and simple enough to follow.
All the best in your enndeavours.
