Dear
As per my understanding,Exgratia is any amount paid by management to its employees apart form "Bonus".
For Example: if the management decides to pay Rs 1000 apart from Rs.3500 than Rs 1000 is ex gratia.

The amount which is paid as a good will amount, though there is no liability to pay. In other words, ex-gratia is a favour, and not compelled by legal right. Thanks, regards R K Nair

This is a legal term which means The payment given in and as a reward. So far bonus is concern the payments made by the employer as per percentage basis called bonus and in excess to that if payments made are called ex-gratia payments as employee should not claim the amount as a matter of right even in future. may be called BAKSHISI.
