Hi,
It would be good if anybody could throw any light on the following:
1) if the total CTC P.M. is Rs. 30,000, how much would be the basic? is there any legal specification? is it that the basic would have to be 35% of the total CTC?
2) What would be the amount of the HRA? is there any legal specification ?
3) what would be the CCA or the City Compensatory allowance? as far as I know, the amt differs from one metro to the other, do let me know the diff. rates.
I need your help very badly as I am revamping the pay structure of our company.
Thanks and regards,
Ayona

Thanks for your immediate response Krishna but dear I need a structure which includes variable part.i.e incentives which an employee can earn according to his performance.so, I am looking  such kind of structure in which mentiones fixed salary as well as variable incentives both.

Dear Ayona,
You can have any combinations.
These components of salary are designed to have minimum tax.
Almost all the allowances like HRA, Medical, etc are in terms of percentage of basic. If you are keeping basic so less, allowances will get affected accordingly and even employee will get less benefits.

Hi Ayona,
The contents of the salary break up is as below, you can prepare it at the suitability of your own. HRA would be 50 or 60% of basic.
Basic
HRA
TA
Other Allowance
MobileReimbursement / Month
Gross Per Month = Sum of all the above.
GrossPer Annum= 12*Gross/Month
PF Contribution= 12% of Basic/Annum
ESIContribution = 4.75% of Gross/Annum
Medical = The mediclaim facility provided to an employee who are not covered under ESI as the maximumceiling for ESI is 10000/Month.
Getting more than this will be covered under Mediclaim or it depends on company policy
EX-Gratia/Bonus = A fixed amount as Bonus
Annual Fixed GrossCost= Gross/Annum+ Ex-gratia
Annual Total Cost = AFGC + PF+ESIC
Annual total cost is also called as CTC.
Hope now it will be very much clear to you, if you have any query feel free to ask.
Regards,
Amit Seth.
