Hi, Ours is a small healthcare organization that has employees as consultants. if the employee was found to have conjunctivitis during work time and was sent home. will that day be considered to be paid day or leave? We don't have leaves for employees who have not completed six months. only on completion of six months, the employee is eligible for one casual leave per month.

Hi,
Any leave of absence from work ( unless authorized by Employer for official duty) should be considered as leave only. In the absence of leave it has to be considered leave without pay.
But why no leaves for first 6 months ?

You have to pay for that day of present and he was not absent, rather you sent him back without proper guidelines.
Further, you should have notify the employees beforehand. I don't think conjetivitis is an epidemic.
