Hi, I have almost completed my notice period; only one week is pending now. However, my manager asked me to extend my notice period until the 21st. As I was living in a different city, I had already left the rental house and returned home. Just one week before, he asked me to extend my period. When I denied, he requested me to prepare a lot of paperwork from the past 2 years, which will surely take more than a week to complete. Now, he is saying that if I don’t finish that work, they will not relieve me. Please give me suggestions on what to do.

dear, You are liable to work during the notice period but they can’t extend your notice period without giving you a short notice. Also please read your company policy.
