I have been transferred to a new location in India for the past 4 months. My age is 54 years. My wife is not comfortable with the climate of this new state. She has been suffering from Sinusitis which has increased due to humidity here.

Want to put up a request letter for job relocation. Do we require to attach any medical documents from any doctors?

Should I also include my father's point as well. Because he stays in a place which is near the location that we are requesting the HR to transfer me back.

Should I also mention that the current location is not utilizing my skills which are completely different from the skills that I already possess. or is the medical ground of my wife is enough?

Hi,

You can write a request letter for transfer on humanitarian basis.

You can attach your Spouse's medical record/certificate as a supporting document. You can also add the point that your aged Father is alone and this transfer will enable you to take care of him as well.

Lastly with reference to your statement " current location is not utilizing my skills which are completely different from the skills that I already possess" I suggest not to add this in your letter. It might backfire. Employer's perception will be always different. They might perceive that you were paid for no work or less work. So better avoid that point.

As suggested by our member, you may submit your request, highlighting your spouse's and father's problems, which are faced by you currently, only. Who knows, your employer can consider your case favourably, on compassionate grounds.
