Basics of Water

Water is a common chemical substance that is essential to all known forms of life. Water is a tasteless, odorless liquid at ambient temperature and pressure, and appears colorless in small quantities, although it has its own intrinsic very light blue hue. Ice also appears colorless, and water vapor is essentially invisible as a gas.

Water is the chemical substance with chemical formula H2O: one molecule of water has two hydrogen atoms covalently bonded to a single oxygen atom. Hydrology is the study of the movement, distribution, and quality of water throughout the Earth.

Effect of Water on Human Beings

The human body normally contains about 55% to 78% water depending on body size. Water makes up more than half of your body weight and a person can't survive for more than a few days without it. Water is required by every cell in the body as nourishment and to remove wastes. Blood is mostly water, and your muscles, lungs, and brain all contain a lot of water. Your body needs water to regulate body temperature and to provide the means for nutrients to travel to all your organs. With less consumption of water we are prone to constipation, dry and itchy skin, acne, nose bleeds, repeated urinary tract infections, dry and unproductive coughs, constant sneezing, sinus pressure, headaches…etc.

There are two types of toxins that are produced in our bodies or that enter our bodies through the environment. Water soluble and water insoluble toxins. The job of getting rid of these two types of toxins is assigned to two major organs of the body. One is the liver and other the kidneys. Kidneys flush out water soluble toxins with the help of water and the liver flushes out water insoluble toxins through the help of bile. The byproducts of hormonal breakdowns and other metabolic products are water insoluble toxins that are thrown out by the liver.

Consuming ordinary drinking water by the right method purifies human body. It renders the colon more effective by forming new fresh blood, known in medical terms as Haematopaises. That the mucousal folds of the colon and intestines are activated by this method, is an undisputed fact, just as the theory that new fresh blood is produced by the mucousal fold. If the colon is cleansed then the nutrients of the food taken several times a day will be absorbed and by the action of the mucousal folds they are turned into fresh blood. The blood is all-important in curing ailments and restoring health and for this water should be consumed in a regular pattern.

Water therapy

Water therapy is one of the simple, practically free and safe which can be done without the help of any medical expert. As one has to take a shower to clean out the dirt outside the body and one cannot keep pouring little water throughout the day to clean the body. Similarly water therapy helps you to clean the internal body in the morning. Similarly one cannot argue that water can do its cleaning action by drinking several cups of water throughout the day. Drinking water throughout the day is for thirst. Water therapy is not for thirst but for flushing all the toxins out of body and to regain good health.

Important notes before you start this water therapy

· It is very essential to note that no drinks (like tea, coffee, and milk) or any form of solid food should be taken within half an hour to one hour before and after drinking 1.5 liters of water.

· Using any form of alcoholic drink the previous night is strictly prohibited.

· The previous night before going to bed, if you clean your teeth and gums (gums with hand) and next morning if your mouth is not smelling bad then you may rinse your mouth with water and gently brush with your hands and do water therapy almost immediately. If your mouth has a foul smell and if you are not comfortable with the above approach, brush your teeth and then do water therapy after 5 minutes.

· Try to use good quality water. Make sure the water that runs through your tap is good quality, water free from chemicals and other toxins. There are many choices available like reverse osmosis water, distilled water, de-ionized water, filtered water etc. Each has its own advantage and disadvantages. So you could choose the best depending on your budget or living.

· However, if you are seriously ill, make sure to contact your physician first and get their confirmation before chugging down this volume of water. Sometimes there are patients who are advised against drinking too much water as they would be harmful to their own health. But if you’re not a special patient and see no complications in your body, start drinking water.

Process/Procedure of water therapy

The person who wishes to undergo water therapy should prepare 1.5 liters of water everyday. The person then drinks them altogether and fasts for at least an hour from any food or drink and that’s it. Initially it would be difficult for person to start with 1.5 liters. So you could go about with four glasses first and then the balance two glasses after a gap of 2 minutes. Initially you may find the hesitation to drink 1.5 liters since it will make you urinate from time to time. This is true however, with daily intake of water; the body would eventually adjust to the water intake and you can act normally even with the daily intake of 1.5 liters everyday.

Why 1.5 liters? Is 1.5 liters to much to take for the stomach?

1.5 liters is perfect! The stomach is a muscular sac that can hold about 1.5 liters (1.6 quarts) of fluid.

It basically fills the stomach and the water gushes into the intestines and cleans the whole pathway. Since the small intestine does not absorb water, nature helps in the cleaning of the organs from the mouth, through the esophagus, stomach and the small intestines and part of the large intestine right down to the rectum. So every morning we clean the whole alimentary system (digestive and intestinal organs).

In the large intestine, part of the water is absorbed into the blood stream and the rest reaches the rectum where it pushes the stools out of the body. We have noticed that drinking slightly lukewarm water completely flushes the stools in the rectum almost like taking an enema.

The water in the blood slightly dilutes the blood which is good for the heart and other capillaries. The kidney then uses this water to flush all the metabolic and toxic wastes from the body.

To summarize, water therapy every morning cleanses the whole body by flushing toxic and metabolic wastes from the body and keeps it healthy.

When I wanted to start this Water therapy a few years ago, my doctor advised me not to take more than one liter of water. He informed me the following reasons:-
In our body, the kidneys control the amount of water, salts and other solutes leaving the body by sieving blood through their millions of twisted tubules.
Every hour, a healthy kidney at rest can excrete 800 to 1,000 milliliters, of water and therefore a person can drink water at a rate of 800 to 1,000 milliliters per hour without experiencing a net gain in water,
When a person drinks above 1000 ml water in a short period of time, the kidneys cannot flush it out fast enough and the blood becomes “water-logged”. This condition may result in symptoms like headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, frequent urination and mental disorientation.
I never attempted to take more than one litre.
