I wish to leave a company due to my personal reasons, I have sent a resignation letter to my manager keeping the main HR head and the MD in the copy. But my manager refuses to accept my resignation stating that I have to find a replacement before I go and before she wouldn't accept the resignation.
I had mentioned the reason for my leaving along with the last working date as well. Yet they refuse to accept the resignation.

No one can force you to stay if you want to leave. Finding a replacement is company's responsibility unless you are the only recruiter in your company. You can serve the notice period mentioned in your joining letter and make the handover on your last working day.
Holding your salary or forcing you to stay back is illegal. You can go to labor court if things are not done with mutual agreement.

Dear Colleague,
It is your fundamental right to seek any employment of your choice and no one can block your way. It is mandatory on your part to check the terms of appointment order particularly on the notice period clause. Some will mention 90 days notice some 30 days notice period which you need to comply. The Manager can not hold you for endless period of " finding replacement" But the manager can hold you until you serve your notice period say one moth or 3 months ( please check your appointment order). After that you the manager is bound to relieve you. Kindly insist your manager to do F&F and give your relieving letter and experience letter on the completion of your notice period. You can take support from your HR /MD as the case may be. Try all possibilities for a smooth exit so that later in your career there is no remarks
All the Best and God Bless
