Good Afternoon.
One of our new joinee joined on 01/01/2021 and opted out of EPF scheme. Salary/EPF wages was above 15000 at joining.
Now he approaches to be enrolled in EPF from 01/06/2021.
Can we enroll him now in EPF?

At the time of joining you should have collected from 11 which declared that he was not an existing member of PF. Now you can register him and start contributing to PF. This should not be done with retrospective date but from the current month only. To be of safer side you can collect a letter from the employee stating that he had declined to become a member of PF when he joined but realising the benefits associated with the schemes he would like to get enrolled from this month. This declaration is not to be sent to PF office but the same can be put in his personal file only. If you had not collected form 11 earlier you should collect it now.

I hope and trust that you are covered in the PF Act 1952 and there are other employees covered. While covering this employee under the PF Scheme, the employer contribution shall not be deducted from the employee's salary and has to borne by the company. Surely the PF deduction has to be prospective and for the past period keep ready Form 11 with employee signature.
