Can any member from this group tell me in which section of EPF act/EPF scheme/EP scheme it is mentioned that it is mandatory for the employer to give its contribution for EPF though the employee continues in service even after 58 years of age (as age of retirement is not 58 years) and have opted for pension after 58 years of age.
Thanks.

The EPF Act 1952 nowhere puts an age ceiling on the members of the EPF Scheme. If one is an employee drawing wages, irrespective of age, has to be a member of EPF Scheme, contribution can be limited to the wage ceiling amount. Since there is no age ceiling one has to continue but in EPS there is a specific provision that the contribution to it would cease on the employee attaining 58 years , see the explanation to para 6 of the EPS extracted below:
Explanation.- An employee shall cease to be the member of Pension Fund from the date of attaining 58 years of age or from the date of vesting admissible benefits under the Scheme, whichever is earlier.
