Hi, I am working as online coding instructor for a company based in gurugaon and delhi. I work remotely from Hyderabad using their online platform by which i Teach the students. I have 20 hours per week as per our agreement. they sent me contract agreement, offer letter and two other documents. Till now they have not paid me any salary although my dashboard on there website aftr login shows the salary figure in the earnings section. they say that the parent have complained about me.
As such they decided to stop the payment. they said they will observe for one week about my performance and then decide. So far i have not taken any leave nor was absent for any classes. I have sent a letter regarding the non-payment to the manager. but he is not responding. can somebody suggest me what do in this case. should i have to approach the labour commison office of gurgaon or hyderabad.

Hi,
Teachers does not fall within the ambit of definition of 'workman', hence cannot approach Labour Commission. Since nature of job is teaching here, therefore, no protection available in this case under ID Act, which is available to a workmen!
However, the case can be further proceeded as per the contract agreement.
