Dear Friend,
Professional tax deductible on total earning of the employee in that particular month.
Please check slab as per your state applicability. https://www.saralpaypack.com/blogs/p...ferent-states/

Profession Tax is a state subject and the slabs differ from state to state. It has nothing to do with Minimum Wages notification.Profession tax is levied on the total income of the employee or professional and as such his total income from various sources should be added up. In the case of employees, the employer can add up the gross salary earned for a period of six months (most of the states follow the practice of six monthly remittance of Profession tax) plus bonus paid during this period for calculation of tax payable by each employee.
Regarding website, paycheck, my sincere advice to Personnel/ HR Executives is that please do not reply only on paycheck because information provided may be incorrect. Better you take the minimum wages notification from the concerned state Government's official website and work out DA. In the case of state like Kerala where the DA changes very frequently unlike states like Tamil nadu where the VDA is fixed for one year, there is no option other than getting he latest VDA from the Consumer Price Indices of different localities in Kerala.

What is a standing order? Why are we required to follow this rather than the applicable act?
