i would like to know whether or not gratuity is be paid to an employee who is deputed to work in other organsiation. The employee whose parent department is supported with government funds worked in other organisation which is also funded by Govt funds, is it necessary to pay gratutity besides payment of leave salary and pension contribution

Hello,
Gratuity is a 'severance' benefit payable to an exiting employee. I'm not sure going by your info.given here, whether you on deputation means severed the ties or removed from the pay roll of your employer. Contribution of leave & pension contribution could happen as they are not linked with severance, whereas 'eligibility to gratuity' arises when an employee leaves an organisation.(Presumably you are covered under 'death-cum-retirement gratuity scheme' of govt.of India'). In a given situation if 'contribution to gratuity' also remitted to borrowing organisation its ok, but that doesn't mean the 'gratuity' becomes due for payment without severance.

Inter Departmental Deputation in Government Service is governed by the Rules of Deputation. When an employee of a particular department is deputed to another department, his lean of service still remains with his parent or lending department and therefore the borrowing department has to bear all the direct and indirect costs of his employment during the entire period his deputation. The proportionate contribution to gratuity is included in the cost of deputation.

A note of grammatical correction please as both the words lean and lien are homophones. What I actually meant was " lien" not "lean".
