At present, a member can withdraw the funds in his EPF account only after two months of unemployment as 'full and final' settlement.
However, the EPFO has announced yesterday that the members can now withdraw 75% of the account balance after 30 days of being unemployed, and continue to keep the same account so as to contribute later when they become employed. Also, they can withdraw the remaining 25% of their funds after completion of two months of unemployment.
