Dear Professionals, I would like opinion of HR professionals who are handling the Security Guard Board (Maharashtra) under The Maharashtra Private Security Guards (Regulation Of Employment And Welfare) Act, 1981, on the quality of services provided by them. Is it advisable to go for the services under the Security Guard Board?Further, if they have applied for exemption, which are agencies involved.
I also would request you to mention yours and your organisation's name and your designation.

Is it compulsory to employ Security Guards under the Board?

Not compulsory to recruit Security Guards through Guard Board. But ensure that the agency through which you engage Guards are exempted agency under the Act & which complies all minimum requirement of Guard Board.

Dear Ashutosh ,
Under the Security Board Act you are supposed to take Guards from them only .( Guard Board ) .
a) Just see their Standard .
b) Their Salary Structure .
c) Work Discipline .
d) Once you employ them it is difficult to terminate like Private Security Agencies .
Therefore ,
Discuss with Security Agency who are exempted under the Act ,& take care of Govt. Agency .

Dear Ashutosh,
It is not compulsory to have Guard board security for the organisation but you need to go for the registered security agency only. The security agency which you are trying to close for your organisation should have a proper registration under security guard board and they must adhere to all norms and rules laid down by the guard board.
There are many security agencies you may found in Mumbai but they all are not registered or exempted security agencies. Thus you need to follow proper documentation process before going further for any contract with any security agency.

Dear all,
my employer wishes to take security guards on company roll. He will terminate contract with private agency which is currently provide us security guards. What are the pros and cons of such decision? Is it alright to take securities on roll ? Plz reply
