Hi Team, I joined new company and its startup my previous HR did PF and ESI deduction mess up for some employees. She deducted PF and ESI for some and not for some. If i ask her she telling they are exempt may i know the reason? I want to stream line every thing can any one help me on this pleas its urgent.

Dear Nandini,
If basic plus DA of any employee is less than 15000 then you've to deduct pf for that employee.
PF deduction is 12% from employee's salary and 12% will be paid by employer.
For ESIC, if any employees gross salary is below 21000 than you've to deduct ESIC on that
ESIC deduction is 1.75% from employee's salary and 4.75% from employer's contribution.
PT slab will vary according to state, so please check slabs for your state.
This are the basic statutory compliances which needs to be deducted every month, apart from this, you also have to take care of TDS deduction if any employee comes under tax bracket.

Thank you for the information but is PF optional for employees to opt or its mandatory to deduct?
Here they are showing employee resigned they withdrawing PF but still working how can i correct this? as per my knowledge its wrong.

1. He/she does not have any current PF balance at the time of joining a new employer
2. His/her salary (Basic + DA) is more than Rs.15,000/- in his/her new employment.
