1) Is there any change in minimum ceiling or
2) change in age limit for Employee contribution to ESI.
while uploading the excel for the month of July 2017, EE contribution is not reflecting though employer contribution is showing for the said EE. She is cook and his gross monthly salary is Rs 3250/- per month and DOB age 67 yrs.
Last month (for june 2017), EE contribution was showing and paid.

I came to know from Kolkata Regional office of ESI (Contact No. 033-22364451) that exemption ceiling for EE contribution was for the employees earning wages upto Rs 100/- per day. Now ceiling is Rs 137 per day. It means employees earning wages Rs 137/- per day need not to contribute towards ESI. Only employer needs to contribute for them. The above information is based on verbal confirmation from ESI office. Is anyone having the circular copy, pls share the same.

Hi,
There has been an amendment in Employees’ State Insurance (Central), Rules, 1950 in Rule 52 - Exemption from payment of employee’s contribution where the average daily wages has been changed from Rs 100 to Rs 137.
Please find attached notification for the same.
