Legal Termination During Probation: Compensation and Performance Standards - CiteHR

During the probation period, if any employee's performance is found to be poor and their senior decides to terminate the team member without compensation, is it valid? The company has already given an appointment letter to employees with their signature, and in the appointment letter, one clause of the probation period is mentioned:

"You will be on probation for a period of six months from the date of your joining and shall be confirmed based upon your meeting the performance requirements and progress as defined by the organization. In case your performance or progress in meeting the performance requirements is not found satisfactory during the probationary period, the probationary period may be further extended. Alternatively, your services shall be terminated at any point in time, either during the probation period, including an extended probation period, in case you are not able to meet the performance standards of the organization. Please note that during the period of probation, your services can be terminated without any notice or compensation."
