Most of the details mentioned here might sound positive or attractive. In fact these words are either too much used or very common and does not represent anything special or unique about your personality and character.

A very large %age of resume I come across have somewhere mention of these words that I feel are not a true representation of a candidate.

To list a few of these words :- Experienced, Extraordinary, Exceptional, Enthusiastic, Efficient, Hardworking, Talented, these are some common words that a candidate uses in his summary section. This section being at the top of a resume is seen at 1st glance. And if these are found I or any other interviewer will not read the remaining part of resume or will have loose interest while going thru the entire document . A simple reason is that he did not find anything unique or it was another of the bunch of resume received.

This also happens during interview when you are asked about yourself, the common words that a candidate uses are Confident, Hardworking, Dedicated, Emotional, Smart, Good Communication Skills, Quick Learner, Adaptable and so on.

Try to find new words which describe you as a potential employee and are new to any interviewer ears. They might have the same meaning as above, but will surely sound different.

And Of Course, while talking to interviewer do not say " wellllll" . "you know", "the thing is that", "ummmm", "at the end of the day", "actually", "what I mean to say is ".....

Thought words may have 7% impact in communication, it still makes sense.

Remember an Interview is a conversation between 2 adults. Both the candidate and interviewer must be talking at same pace and energy. It is not advisable to talk too much or answer questions in single words.

Candidate should 1st go thru the job description thoroughly and understand what is expected of him. Then match his / her strengths with the profile and what he or she can do best in the position.

Maximum details should be collected about the company, its history, major clients, major projects, details of Directors etc. ongoing processes and changes (if any)

Practice yourself in the applied position and what value addition you would do to your company.

Share your achievements with examples and specific numbers. Rather than saying achieved 100% target say achieved 1200 Nos against target of 1100.

While giving answer to question " Tell me about yourself " or " What are your achievements " focus on "I" rather than "WE"

Candidate should show his passion and desire to join the company.

Candidate should try to get the interview in a conversation mode rather than question answer session.

Candidate's body language should match his words.

Be confident in what you are replying.

Candidate should understand the work culture of company and be in line with it.

Ask questions to interviewer about growth, hierarchy , work culture, responsibilities and expectation from profile.

Interviewer should feel that a candidate is desirous of working for the company and has passion for it.

Last but not least before leaving from interview ask the expected date of reply or the date of finalizing the position.

Candidate should ask the interviewer how did he or she fair in interview and what are his / her chances of being selected.

A thank you mail or letter should be sent 2 - 3 days after the interview.

These are some points a candidate should do while being interviewed.
