Dear all,
I am working in a construction company in Pune. I wanted to make a proper salary structure for the company employees. Please provide a good Salary structure with the % and CTC. And also if i could get an HR Manual for a construction company will be an additional help.
Although I have surfed lots of discussion regarding HR manuals and Salary Structure and many formats are available but then I am again confused with the % of salary heads and policies applicable by law.
Please Help Its Urgent.
Thank you!

Dear Priyanka,
In India, making salary rationalisation according to grade is a huge task. This is because of shortage of skilled manpower. When employers try to take skilled candidates on board, the candidates start negotiating and it creates imbalance. In addition to this is a problem of manpower attrition. When the projects are due to start, many times people are taken on board hastily without giving any regard to the salary structure. One more thing that disturbs the salary structure is whimsical selection of people by the top boss. This is more so in your industry.
As far as HR Manual is concerned, I need to know what exactly do you want. HR Manuals vary from one company to another even within the same industry. Secondly, though value of HR Manual cannot underestimated, there are still larger issues that HR needs to handle. Call me on my mobile and I will explain what should take primacy over HR Manual.
Thanks,
