Dear seniors, I have a query regarding PF coverage date to my company.
Am working as a HR-Asst in the garments industry. Our company started with 11 employees in Aug 2013. After that, it was raised more than 60 by Nov 2013. So we have paid PF amount from Nov 2013. My Query is whether we are coverage from Aug or Nov?
Kindly help me out..

Hi
First of all can you please update by when you had enrolled for PF?
As per the PF for garment industry even if the employee strength is 10 and above the Contribution is mandatory. The contribution should start from the month of of Aug 2013 onwards.
If you are asking any queries it is better to mention the name too

In my opinion, Act will be applicable from the date on which the estt. employed 20 or more employees provided the said estt. Is not a branch or unit of an already covered estt.

Hi,
On a practical note, the date of coverage begins from the date of registration of the establishment as mentioned in the Registration Certificate issued by the Regional Provident Fund Organisation. On the basis of the information it is unclear at what date the no of employees exceeded 20 in your organisation and since when your organisation is covered by the PF Office. The Registration Certificate specifically mentions the date of coverage and ideally you should commecnce from that date.
Hope that helps.
