Dear Ashis
Try to understand the reasons of your boss behind alloted you in housekeeping. Positively i could understand that there would be more scope of interactions with all employees and scope for understanding people better.
Ask and understand it may give you an opportunity to understand people much better before handling IR issues.
Hope your offered designation being P/A Assistance -IR.
regards,
Sekhar

First of all let the forum know, since how long you are working for this company, if it is a few months only then you are requested to wait for some more time. If it is over a period of time then it is advisable to talk to the HR Head and state your keenness in taking the IR issues and let your HR Head know that you are well versed with IR issues.
Before coming to any conclusion of quitting the job, please interact with your senior.
