Dear All,
I am working in one of the manufacturing industry through contract form past 1 yr.
First they have asked me to open a bank a/c in axis bank & after 4 months their tie up with the bank has dropped.
Now they are asking me to open a bank a/c in allahabad bank, but i have not opened yet. So, they have holded my Nov-2013 salary for not opening the bank a/c. So, i am asking them to issue a cheque but they are not ready to issue the cheque.
As per the rules they have to issue the cheque if they have problem with cash transactions.
Is there any problem with issue of cheque. So please help the above problem to solve, and tell me the rules in such cases what i have to do.
Kindly revert back as soon.
Regards,

Dear Manjunath
Its a small issue; and as stated by you the company has no relationship with the earlier bank and has formed relationship with a new bank. Instead of sticking to your guns and being obstinate; one should co-operate as far as possible.
Although salary cheques can be issued; however it entails preparation and signing by the authorised signatories, which may cause delays; as well as inconvenience to you in going to the bank, filing a paper slip and waiting for it to be cashed.
Also think of the paper used in the process.
In these days of electronic fund transfer, it is faster, easier and environment-friendly to do away with paper-cheques. what more motivation does one need ??
Warm regards.

The only feasible solution at this point of time would be :
Request the Management that you are in the process of opening a Bank Account; however, since it will take time and already your salary is delayed,
therefore, you may be given a part of salary as Salary Advance (in cash or cheque); which can be ADJUSTED in the next months salary.
Hope this works.
Warm regards.

Dear Manjunath,
Management can release salary through NEFT also to your Axis Bank, if they are not ready to issue cheque. NEFT process is very easy and payment can be initiated to any bank account in any bank.
Management should not withhold or delay the salary payment.

Dear All
MY REPLY
Now a days Management can make transfer through NEFT/RTGS pressuring the staff to open bank account in a particular Banks. However management has to realize in this regard and they have to upgrade their internal process like payroll / transfer. In this regard opening a bank account with other bank is not a big deal. Hence open the bank account for smooth running of business.

Apart from what Mr. Raj Kumar has said, it is the duty of the HR/Accounts to get the Salary Account opened in the Bank of their Choice, you have to sign the paper the forms and the documents to be submitted, Salary Account nowadays are opened in Zero Balance, so what is the fuzz in opening a Bank Account as per the requirement of the employer
