Sir, With regard to the start up process of a BPO in India, the following are the few statutory things which are must: [1] Create a company with Articles of Association and memorandum register with Registrar of Companies [2] Get the company registered under Professional Tax, Service Tax, [3] You will have to obtain the Trade License [4] Labour License is also required. [5] you will have to get yourself registered under the shops and establishment act. There are certain registers also to be maintained under each of the enactment. In addition to all this there are basic accounting records you need to maintain which will guide you with the expenditure and incomes. for any further clarifications you can write to me on sriram15071970@gmail.com or am available on 09010352384. All the best Regards

Sir, In addition to the points mentioned in my previous reply rather first and foremost is to identify a perfect location for the office, pl note that there are some government schemes available to start up with, like AP government gives some benefits for the new startup companies like this, therefore you are required to identify the location first suitable for the operations and which is also viable as per the budget allotted by you. It is completely advisable to have a cost working for the same which includes the approx cost of establishing the office and the staff therein and all expenses taken into consideration. In total it is a project work in it self. as mentioned in my previous posting you may write to me on sriran15071970@gmail.com or can call me on 09010352384. Best Regards - JSR

Dear Mr Mohamed,
Setting up a company for any purpose (including BPO) is not a difficult task. There is a series of forms to be filled, documents to be prepared, registrations to be done etc. This has been adequately covered in the responses posted so far.
However, before setting up a BPO (voice or non voice), it is very essential that you MUST have visibility of who your client would be. In absence of this, there is a real risk that you make the necessary investment for setting up the facility but struggle to get revenue generating clients.
Please pay particular attention to this aspect.
