Dear Seniors,
Sir, My company has done some civil work in another site owned by the company for erecting and testing some equipment. Work is given contract and material provided by company. The site is far away and I feel that area is not in ESI jurisdiction.
Kindly advise whether we need to pay ESI for labour charges.
Thanking you.
With Regards

Dear Friend
If the place is not covered under ESI Scheme you need not pay the ESI contribution for labour charges. But you should get the notification form the ESI authorities regarding the non coverage of the ESI on that place and attach with the bill so that it is easy to show to the enforcement officer while on his inspection

Sir,
Thank you very much for your advice.
If the work is done outside the company premises and it is a new work where there was no other business activities, building or other work then is it necessary to pay?
Kindly advice, sir.
Thanks & Regards,
Mohan Kumar
