Hi CiteHR friends.
Read this quote by Johann Christoph Arnold.
Quote:::
When things look dark and hopeless, that is the time to find out who your friends and neighbors really are. Or do you think you are the only one who is afraid? Look with new eyes at the people you meet daily, and you will quickly realize that everyone is frightened, at least at some level. But every time we share a burden like fear with another person, that burden is cut in half, and is replaced by love. Suddenly we will realize that we are not as alone as we thought we were.

Hi Bala,
I liked the quote but want to say one thing, i reality it hardly happens.When the time goes wrong even your own relatives / friends behaves as if they are more helpless than u..But this is for sure my dear friend, somewhere someone is definitely there to listen your problem...and this quote goes to that particular person only...we tell our problem to so many people but hardly there are 2-3 people whose suggestions touch our heart...nothing just felt like writing my own views.........

True.
I remember another quote: "God forced us to have relatives, but He gave us the freedom to choose our friends, so as to make it up"
Now, that special person, who'll first be your friend and then your relative, will be with you...always.
Beautiful Quote Bala, and excellend observation, Rekha.

Hey Bala,'
Thatz was a nice one...
Read your views as well as Rekha's one..
well my view is that in time of crisis those who come to you r those whom you have helped & been a part of their lives..or rather this answer lies within all of us..is how one looks at the problems..
When was the last time we all actually saw ourselves in the Mirror?..just more than the reflection...just deep within...
Cheers,

Hi Bala Rekha & Sree,
Felt that my answer wasn't upto the mark..hence am sharing this excerpt was taken from Denis Waitley's newest release, Safari to the Soul.
...He says.. you can change your life by changing your habits. Here are some guidepost rules regarding change:
Rule 1: No one can change you and you can't really change anyone else. You must admit your need, stop denying your problem and accept responsibility for changing yourself.
Rule 2: Habits aren't broken, but replaced -- by layering new
behavior patterns on top of the old ones. This usually takes a least
a year or two. Forget the 30-day wonder ones. I don't know where
motivational speakers got the idea that it takes twenty-one days to
gain a new habit!!
It may take that long to remember the motions of a new skill, but after many years of being you, it takes far longer to settle into a new habit pattern and stay there. Habits are like submarines. They run silent and deep. They also are like comfortable beds, in that they're easy to get into, but difficult to get out of.
So don't expect immediate, amazing results. Give your skills'
training a year and stick with it, knowing that your new ways can
last a lifetime.
Rule 3:
A daily routine adhered to over time will become second
nature, riding a bicycle. Negative behavior leads to a losing
lifestyle, positive behavior to a wining lifestyle. Practice make
permanent in both cases.
Cheers & Have a great day!!

hi ppl,
I think i will go with wat Rekha had to say on this.
n i fully agree with the quote "God gave us the choice to choose our friends"
but this should not be taken literaly.
even some relatives can be friends. it all depends on wat kind of a relation do you share with the other person.
but yes it is seen more often that relatives are more concerned about the society at large, whereas good friends will be ready to stand by you against the world in case they believe u r right.
but finaly know for urself that everyone is alone, an individual, if its ur fight u just have to fight it ... noone will fight it for u.
n yes it is foolish to believe that if u help someone he/she will help u back. it may or maynot happen that way... so don't count on it. it is good if it happens, but don't lose faith in urself if it does'nt.

Pallavi

Hi Rajat,
Read your post, interesting definitely and thought provoking too.
quoting from your post:::
No one can change you and you can't really change anyone else. You must admit your need, stop denying your problem and accept responsibility for changing yourself.
Unquote::::::
I am somehow not able to fully agree with this. I take myself as a living example where constant remiders, talk etc from my best friend at office has indeed changed one of my major habits - getting wild - for good. Ofcourse, I had decided that I will change and sincerely worked towards it and it took more than a year. But without her constant prodding, pushing, remonding etc., it wouldn't have happened. So oneway, she has changed me, isn't it?
Thanks

Hi Rajat & Bala,
Both of you have your own point of views. And both of you are correct!!!!!
Rajat quoted very nicely you should accept responsible for changing your own habits etc where Bala adds her own personal experience. I would go with both of you. Yes Rajat you are right, we should be responsible for our own habits etc and Bala you are absolutely right, coz I have also seen that there were two girls in my previous office, one of them was a chain smoker, both of them were very very close and good friends...Because of other girl's insistance the girl who used to smoke decresed her smoking by 1 to two cigrattes in a day & after something quitted and like this she made many changes in her friends life. It does happen Bala, if somebody loves u, then he/she can change your habits / thoughts.. Thats true.........
