you can tell the truth , no harm in it.. anytime better than a lie. they will accept the genuine reason rather than fake
if not then go wid dis....
1. you can either tell them that you were assisting your father in his business if any, or u were helping uncle or brother in their business to get handsome of experience or
2. tell that bcoz of family problems u took gap in your academic career

Hello,
State the TRUTH! It is not a crime to change tracks during educational phase.
Why the question, in the first place? Were you expecting any other response?
I am glad that everyone so far has responded the same way!
Cheer up and face the interview boldly and succeed!
The interviewers may ask you reasons for change of line. Once be truthful, objective and logical. In any case they are going to look at how good an Engineer you are likely to be and nothing else but they would also like to see of you have the courage of conviction to own up your decision (which is considered as a good quality in human beings and so it is!)
Go right ahead and we would like to know of your selection!

First, you already have answered your question yourself.
And who told you this will impact negatively? I would suggest you to stop being negative. The first thing you have to do is to have faith on yourself and confident about your doings. You have a valid reason which I believe is really good and none of any recruiter can deny to accept this reason of your gap but yes will certainly try to judge your confidence about your decision, your aim of life and focus which actually matters to all
Agree with Mr Samvedan and all other people here..
Second, until you experience an interview how can you say that this will affect you negatively though you know that your decision to go for MBBS comes under career progression and you took a right step at the right time.
Simple answer of your question is that you need to say that you were preparing for MBBS as per your career plan and later define your present career plan without hesitation. Your confident answer is required most here.
