Hi All,
I'm working with one of the IT giant companies for past 7.5+ years. At the time of joining the notice period was of 45 days.
Last year HR sent mail to entire office that the notice period is revised to 90 days.
I have resigned; serving the notice period and already completed 45 days, and I had requested for an early release but I didn't get any reply to my mail...
My question is :
Can a company increase the Notice period of old employees as well, without getting it signed again.. ??
I'm ready to pay 1 month salary, but if the company still doesn't agree, can I do something legally..??
Please advice guys. I'm really puzzled.
Thanks

Thanks buddy...
Can I get more suggestions from the fellow members... I just talked to my lead and he says, I'll be marked absconding if I quit without serving 3 months of notice period...
I talked to recruiting company and they are not in a position to extend my joining date... :( If I serve notice period of 3 months it will leave me jobless... :(

Please go ahead and explain to your head why you cant five 90 days notice. Since, you have not signed anything it is not binding on you. Legally they cannot take any action against you. Please first try to get an amicable solution to the problem if they dont agree with it you can always go to the labour court. But it should be yourr last resort

Thanks buddy... I've told HR about my genuine issues but I'm not getting any replies to my mails.
I'm at client site in a different country and even though I requested for an early release 2 months back, and asked them for initiating process of visa cancellation but till date even after repeated reminders I've received no replies from them.
I'm coming back on my own tickets now and It doesn't seem that I'll get clear release. Please advise me what should be done to resolve this matter. I really dont' know how to approach the labour court
I'm trying to call HR but they are not responding... all this is adding to frustration.
