Dear All seniors,
I am working in a Hospital Industry as a "HR Administrator”, our management force me to wear the paramedical staff uniform, but I am not comfortable to wear the same uniform, because we are professionals. Is there any dress code for HRs? Like doctors are wearing coat or we can make better dress code for HR Professionals
I am looking forward to your great suggestion

there are no any special dress code for HR. but most of the companies prefers for just formals. If any Seniors do share your views.

If it is the hospital's policy, it is better to abide by it. I have heard that there is such dress code for all employees including HR in some retail companies.

Thank you for your inputs. I am planning to deny the uniform because as a HR professional I am wearing the formal dress only. Is there any problem arise from our management side? If Yes how can I face the issue please give your suggestion.

As long as you are working in an organisation, you should abide by their rules. If you don't like it, find out an alternate job to your liking. You can't confront with the management on this issue.

Hi Lalitha.
It is not advisable to deny the uniform. It is always better to abide the management decision. Do you feel uncomfortable to ware the uniform? What makes you to do so? If management creates any issues then you can't defend yourself except as no any uniform for HR & other staffs except formals. :)

HR is not beyond the Management policy of any company. If your company is having specific dress code, you should not deny it. Because as Hr person you will always be an example to others. But you can recommend your management to change the dress code for HR personnel of the organization. I think that will be fruitful if you can establish logic behind that.

Hi Sintralla,
There are a few organisations where Uniform is complulsory for all employees. Even the top management including CEOs, VPs wear uniform.So I see no wrong in HR professionals wearing uniforms.
It creates an identity to each employee irrespective of his role in the organisation and a sense of belongingness and pride of belongining to the brand.
So please take it in positive aititude and accept the Uniform.
