Please advise me, what should be minimum basic for PF calculation as per minimum wages act and which zone should be consider. We are licensed under Shop Establishment Act.

as per minimum wages it should be same as minimum wages but for the purpose of pf we can split the minimum wages as per decesion of court in case of G4s Security vs RPF gurgaon and also the decision of some other courts

Hi Hema As you are registered under Shops & Commercial Establishments act you should follow minimum Basic & DA as per shops and comercial act itself. On that base itself PF should be deducted. :)

as per minimum wages it should be same as minimum wages but for the purpose of pf we can split the minimum wages @ 95% of rate. the rest 5% can be deemed as HRA.
Suppose the minimum wage for a particular state is Rs. 3600,
than We can split it into Basic 3420, HRA 180, i.e. 3420 for PF.

Minimum wages comprising of Basic(2250) + DA(925) + HRA(675=30%of basic)= Rs. 3850( As per Shops and establishment act of Tamil nadu)
PF recovery to be made for BAsic + DA = Rs. 3175/- since HRA does not include under the Basic wage difinition under Employees Provident Fund scheme
