I have this problem while i am conducting training, While sending message, while spoke to seniors specially in meetings etc..,,

Most of time my Mom used to call me in childhood ''cashew'' because whoever ask something i will try to go first most of time i done perfectly but once i done then analyse my answer with myself 99% find at least small mistakes specially in training; for example you will see on my reply's on our forum as well most of time i forget to close the sentence (Specially on mails i forget to close the sentence because ''i am hurry'').

Today i conducting a training to our employees on ''HEAT STRESS'' did the same mistake due to my usual ''cashew'' character forget to add most of points now i realising this. . .

Seniors please advice me how to correct this???? Please advice me it will help to my career growth.

Appreciated in advance. . .

Note; Moderators if its not a right place to discuss this matter means you can remove it from itself and advice me which is the correct place to discuss this matter on our forum.

Dear Raghu,
Don't worry.
Past is gone.
What I do in my training sessions is provide hyperlinks to the main slide.
If time permits then I open the hyperlinks otherswise go ahead with main course.
Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

Dear Raghuvaran,

Ideally your post should have appeared in "Employee Training and Development" section and not in "Safety & Health of your Employees" section.

Your problem is communication. It appears that you have not worked under some managers who was very good at communication.

The way you have written your post is also clumsy. Have a look at the second paragraph. There is no link to the previous sentence. Everything is mixed together.

So what is the solution? The solution is that you need to take a course on "Business Writing Skills". Take this course from some senior person and not from junior person. Learn the principles of business writing. Thereafter, whenever, you write something audit your message or post or letter against those standard principles and then only hit the "send" button.

What will happen if you don't improve your business writing skills? If you don't improve your business writing skills then you will have a problem once you reach at senior level. Possibly you might not reach also. So take corrective measures now itself.

One more suggestion is to read the newspapers. Don't read cursorily. Read only 1-2 news but read it thoroughly. Understand what was thought behind this news, how it was structured, what transitory sentences were used etc.

Much depends on your manager also. If he/she is not good at English or communication itself then nothing can be done.

All the best!

Dear Raghu
As other have said, no point in worrying about the past.
One way to go about this is to make a mock presentation, record it, play it back, and see what you have done. Realisation is the first step in correcting ourselves. So, you have done that now.
If you compare the above message and the one I typed in my private message, you will realise that I have corrected my English.

Dear Dinesh,

" I am working in a US Company having a good team (85 % US nationality) and working under a well skilled manager. He is from the UK; especially in communication part he helped me a lot to improve my skills.
One more thing, I am the one that is submitting EHS submittals to US government and OSHA (quarterly reports; never received any single comment on any EHS submittals, yet.
As per your guidelines, ‘’Business Writing Skills" is very essential, especially for corporate people; will try to purchase a book, when I return to India. If it’s possible, could you kindly suggest me a senior person (???), so that I can contact him directly?
Thanks for your suggestion and guidelines. . ."
