Sir,
I am working with power company as Assistant Personnel Officer. We have Grid Sub Stations (GSSs) at various place and hire ex-servicemen from Societies registered with the government. I want to know that wether the ex-servicemen working as Watchmen at various GSSs would be covered under the definition in Factories Act or not as GSSs are covered under the definition of factory.

actually we are facing problem of deploying security guards (SGs) at GSSs. So, the company wants to know whether by deploying 2 SGs at the place, can serve the purpose. SGs hsve to perform their duties in shifts and round the clock. If only 2 are deployed for 8 hours rotational shift, thereby, engaging one SG for 16 hours a day, with no weekly off, won't it be violation of factories act?
