Dear Seniors, I have planned to do some additional Masters's degree through distance education. I was little confused to select the course, either MSW or MLM.
For MSW:
First Year
Introduction to Social Work
Social Work Practice with Individuals and Groups
Social Policy and Social Welfare Administration
Social Problems
Social Work Research and Statistics

Second Year
Community Organization Practice
Community Development
Human Resource Management
Community Health and Medical Social Work
Project Report and Viva-Voce
For MLM:
First Year
Industrial Sociology and Labour Problems
Labour Laws
Training and Development
Management Information System
Research Methods and Statistics
Second Year
Administrative Law
Social Psychology
Labour Economics
Wages and Salary Administration
Project Work and Viva Voce.
Please suggest your valuable inputs.
Regards

Dear Senthil,
If you are already employed in HR then go for MLM.
If you are seeking employment in HR then go for MSW. Because MSW has more market value than MLM.
Think of MBA(HR), Dip in Training and Development, Dip in HRM, Dip in Labour Laws, M.Sc ( Psychology) also.
All the Best,
With Warmest regards,

Dear Sir, Thanks for your input. I have already completed my MBA - HR and now working in HR & Admin. Is it ok to for for MSW? Is the course content offered for MSW is the best? Regards Senthilkumar.S

Dear Senthil,
As you have completed a PG in HR then no need to another.
Better go for some specialised Diplomas like Dip in T&D or Labour Laws or Applied Psychology and like that. So that YOU WILL HAVE A MULTI DOMAIN KNOWLEDGE.
It is more useful than another PG in same field.
All the Best

Hi Senthilkumar.Raju,
According to me MSW is good rather than MLW.
The reason is, in MSW you can get wide scope in terms of Job as well as your target areas.
Whereas in MLW, you may only masters in Labour related issues.
By doing MSW you will be well aware of any social. labour, economic, political, psychlogical, behavioural issues of Human Beings. In MSW the Practical fieldwork is really helpful in knowing and understanding the situation.
But at last the choice is yours and for the job purpose it's totally based upon your competency & skills.
