Hi,
Legally, pre-medical check-up in not a good practice and unlegally, it's a good practice for companies so that they can safeguard themselves from IR/Labour issues in case any mishappening takes place in the Company.
The objective is to know whether the employee joining your company is physically fit to perform all duties assigned to them.
As of today, almost every company asks for pre-employment medical check-ups, even government organisations.
