What you think, how can HR control the process.... There is noting as such dox available which can be shared but yes, thoughts can be exchanged....
So what all HR professionals understand.. they can share their views to make the process more effective and with less hello effect... but am very surprised... 278 has clicked on the post but no one has shared their views...

This is a general query.. different organisations are using different ind of appraisal systems but most of the time, appraisals are based on LM and RM comments. HR does not have any direct link with individual performance management...
so what HR can do; in general; to have the control on Appraisal Process?

You cannot control but facilitate a fair,transparent and scientific Performance management system. To avoid baised reviews appoint a reviewer to the whole process who is either a super boss or HR. This guy will ensure a mutually agreed review process and intervene in times of disagreement.
Also have a 180 or 360 degree appraisal method. LM/RM can dictate scores if is a one way appraisal method.
Well I am sure seniors will pour in more thoughts to enlighten you more as this is huge arena altogether.
