Dear Sanjayksri,
You can withdraw amount from PF subject to certain conditions like Marriage for self and dependant sisters, brothers etc. Likewise you can withdraw amounts for purchasing of dwelling house or repayment of housing loan. For specified medical treatments amount can be withdrawn. You need to submit FORM 31 for claiming amount. But the PF authorities will sanction only if you satisfy the qualifying conditions.
On the other hand it is not like a bank account wherein you withdraw the amount depending upon your needs

I was employed with "employer X" from 29 June 2005 to 15 October 2007.
Then I was employed with "employer Y" from 16 October 2007 to 24 December 2009
I then got employed with "employer Z" from 11 January 2010 till date.
During this period my EPF account number has changed with each new employer. But I never withdrew any amount. Each time I transferred the amount to the new EPF account with the respective employer.
How old is my EPF membership? Can I apply for advance with form 31 for purchase of a dwelling flat?

From India, Bangalore
Dear Sankar,
As per your case you have not withdraw EPF since 29th of June 2005, only transfer your EPF account to new one till date, so you are eligible of getting advance for purchasing flat because your EPF account is more than 05 years old.
