recruitments (if not tied up with consultants)
co ordination in interviews
joinings and induction
co ordination in training prog
employee engagement and welfare ( main work in IT industry)
exits

Apart from the above -
Performance appraisal is also an imp task .
You can also assign the KRAs (Key Responsible Areas) for an employee.
It will be gr8 if you can do the Succession planning of every employee.

regular outings like picnics and movies, employee birthdays, monthly and yearly staff awards, indoor and outdoor games, conducting soft skills trainings, organizations anniversary celebrations etc...

When you say the main role in IT Industry It depends on your responsibilities in organization. If you are in middle or small size company you responsibilities starts from Recruitment to Exit. An MNC is totally different and your responsibilities depends upon which dept you are working.
