Can anyone advise regarding opting two family pensions.
1) One persons is employed in central government from there he has served for 12 years and eligible for getting pension and pension started from central government.
2) From there is permanently absorbed in the public sector undertaking after some years pension scheme is started in that PSU and he became eligible to get pension in that PSU also.
Can anybody tell me that is he can avail both pension, one from central government and another from PSU.
With regards,

Dear Randhir,
Yes he is eligible to get two pensions. It is perfectly correct.
However, what I did not understand is this. If that person worked in central government for 12 years, then how he became eligible to draw pension? Minimum pensionable service is 20 years for central Govt employees. This rule of pensionable service is waived off only for defence and few other employees.
Definition of the word "pension" is a fixed amount, other than wages, paid at regular intervals to a person or to the person's surviving dependants in consideration of past services, age, merit, poverty, injury or loss sustained, etc.
In the above definition please concentrate on the phrase "in consideration of past services". For the case at hand the employee is eligible for pension from two different government agencies "in consideration of past services".
Ok...

Hi Dinesh,
Thanks for replying me back.
In past, Central Government regular employee who has done more than 10 years of service, he is eligible for pension and also even the person is quasi-permanent who have done more than 10 years, he is eligible for pension, the decision is given by supreme court.
