I've a small surgery center employing 15 persons. Can anyone help me how can i calculate the components like basic salary, DA, gratuity, PF, EPF etc from the CTC ?? and What is the break up in percentage?

Regarding salary calculation we have to follow the rules laid down in labour laws which may vary from state to state, In karnataka we have to follow rules of Minimum wages act of Shops and Establishment where in it specifies what is wages to paid each designation, like wise if it is other than karnataka pl refer to labour law of your state under what catagory your establishment belong to based on that you can easily fix wages.

Dear Mr. Narinder Rathore
I'm the a/cs officer in my company & presently looking hr department in absence of HR so kindly tell me how can i bifurcate the total CTC Amount of salary in the following head :
Basic
HRA
Spl Allowance
Conveyance
if the CTC AMOUNT IS 55000/- P.M.
i have seen ur attachedment that is good but there is no any amt shown in the head of Spl Allowance.

Hi Narendra ji,
thanx very much ..this is very useful for small businesses and professionals
i had some questions :
a) the basic has been calculated at 60% of CTC and HRA as 40% of basic..what are the considerations for this?
b) why conveyance is shown as NIL upto 12000 salary? what are the considerations for this?
c) the PF is calculated at 12% on BASIC 6500..is this right?
d) why ESIC is shown as NIL..when the statutory limit is Rs 10000 gross (NOW raised to 15000 gross)
e) how PF contribution of employees is shown as NIL upto 10700 gross??
f) how gratuity is calculated at 4.81%? we calculate it at 4.165% of present gross?
g) why CCA, special allowance is shown as NIL..we have been advised to break up the salary to have some amounts on this so that PF is not deducted on the amount and the take home for the employee increases..

I had a few queries reagrding the calcultation of basic pay... wht is the criteria of deciding basic pay as 30% or 40% or even 60% of the CTC??
wht is more advantageous for the employers .. basic pay @30% of ctc or 60% of ctc?? and how?

Doctor Please ensure in CTC Basic component should match with Mininmum wage of the state. After that it depends on u how much components u want include in employee CTC.
