Please read this and this is real incident happened few day before.....

With deep pains (and tears in my eyes), i am sorry to inform You that yesterday morning, one of my dear friend's elder son (Mr. Aditya Suresh Joshi), age 19, studying in 1st year of engineering, died in Keshvani Hospital, Mumbai. He was admitted in Keshavani Hospital as burned patient.

Reason? 4 days back this boy had gone to Amravati (One of the district place located in State of Maharashtra) on study tour. After their study was over, he, his classmates & his teachers, all of them were standing on "Badnera" railway station to catch the train. "Badnera" is the name of the railway station for “Amravati" city.

As soon as they arrived on Badnera Railway station, many of them started taking pictures of their friends using "Mobile Phones" and/or "Digital Camera". One of them complained that, in his camera, he was not able to capture more number of friends in one frame. He was not able to catch the angle. Another boy suggested that let's climb on train boogie and take picture so that all of them can be

accommodated in single frame.

At that there was one goods wagon (all of them were oil tankers) train resting between 2 main railway lines. Kumar Aditya climbed up oil boogie. Above his head, 40,000 volts electrical line was passing through. As soon as he clicked the digital camera, 40,000 volt current passed through the camera flash light to his camera and then from his camera to his fingers and then from his fingers to his body. All this

happened within fraction of minutes. Next moment he was thrown from the top. His body was half burned on the spot.

At that time, his father (my friend) was traveling in Bangkok. His many friends in Pune came to know about this via mobile SMS. They instantly arranged air ambulance in Amravati and his burned body was brought to Keshavani Hospital, Mumbai. I was told that this is the best hospital in Mumbai. For 1 and ˝ day or so he was talking to his relatives. When he was admitted to the hospital, at that time only, doctor informed his relatives that don't keep great hopes. Because of lot of complex issues in half burned body?

He died yesterday morning. Now how many of us are aware about this technological threats & dangers? Honestly, Kumar Aditya and his father was not aware. His family was not aware. Our entire friend circle of more than 12,000, we were not aware. Now should we call ourselves as fully educated and fully knowledgeable people? Think of it. Please avoid mobile phones on petrol outlets.

Please avoid talking on mobile phones while driving. I also know many of my friends who do not bother about this good suggestion and each one of them have opted for "Chalta Hai Yaar Attitude". Please avoid talking on mobile phones while they are in charging mode. Avoid charging mobile phones near your bed and/or near wooden furniture. Avoid mobile phones near high voltage electrical lines like railway stations and avoid using flash lights.

My friend, his family members and we all friends learned our lesson with loss of a young life. Now would You like to empower Your friends about this accident so as to avoid future accidents? We can save human life by empowering all the IT users who are in Your network?

Dear Shabbir Mohd,
My sincere condolences for the incident happened. It is not that people don't know, it is that they ignore. Taking that ease. Hopefully incidents like these might turn up people's attitude. I still see people crossing the road so slow ignoring the roaring traffic. It is only the attitude of the person rules...

Hello Mr Shabbir Mohd,

There are gaping loopholes in the story that you have forwarded. Following are my observations
:

a) Kumar Aditya was on the top of the bogie. From there he aimed his camera towards the group of his friends who were on the ground. When he clicked the flash, he must have aimed his flash towards his friends and not atop - towards the electric cables. Then where is the question of electricity coming in picture? How can electricity pass through the air?

b) For a while let me believe that he aimed his camera towards the electric cables. But then since when electric current started passing through the beam of light?

c) Though science does not support it, let me believe that beam of light passed the current. But then the flash was originated by the camera and not by electric cables. If at all the current had passed, then it should have passed from camera to cable. But then why the current had flown reverse?

d) Electric cables used by railways are laid in open ground. Many times weather storms happen. When lightening happens, the flash is as good as photo flash. Then why similar accidents have not happened earlier any time?

e) The manual that is provided along with mobile phone or camera never says that you should not aim your flash towards the electric cable? How come this inconsistency?

f) Cameras with flash are used the world over. When film shooting happens their cameras are far more powerful. Why no such accident reported any time earlier?

While uploading the stories of this kind, make sure these are written correctly. Either the story is incorrect or written incorrectly. We the HR fraternity should be torch bearer of critical thinking. I have found the contrary example of it.

Hello all,
I also strongly believe this story is cooked up. I am a Mumbaiite since birth and have not heard of any Keshvani hospital in Mumbai which is speciality burns hospital, for that matter, if you google for Keshvani hospital, you dont find any.
The electrical energy travelling thru Camera Flash: Has it stemmed from 3 Idiots Urine Experiment ?
@ Dinesh,
Although you & I agree on the falseness of the story, allow me to correct you on technicalities. Electrical current does not pass without a conductor. However, Electro Magnetic Induction does not need any conductor. Thats why we see people/trees/animals being struck by lightening. Secondly, recently, the Railways in Mumbai have changed their electrical source from DC to a 25000V AC and are warning people to avoid travelling on the roof of the train as the proximity to the high voltage carriers can cause severe burns (because of the EMI).

Dear Shabbir.mohd,

I am a professional safety engineer of many years standing. Let every other person who read your posting disbelieve you. I can believe you.

This type of fire has in the past taken place. it will continue to occur too. Those who do not believe can give their e mail Id for I will send the vedio on shell tanker fire. The attender climbed over the tanker at a petrol pump. As he was at the man hole his mobile rang. He just pressed the mobile button and that was the end with the tanker on fire.

Only thing that is incorrect from your posting is the cause of death. You think it is electricity that killed your friend. That part is mistaken. It is the fuel vapour that ignited from the camera click to a flash fire that would have killed your friend. Get the medical report. Kindly confirm the cause of death. Burns from electricity and burns from fire are different. Doctors can confirm it.

Regarding Dr.Keswani - from burns hospital- Yes there is a hospital known by the name of the specialist Doctor Keswani. During 1976 at NITIE; while I was undergoing Safety training Dr.Keswani from burns hospital took class for us on burns. I still remember his excellent class, the photographs he had shown and all those usefull information he gave.

Now to make me stay with you can you just bring out a paper cutting of the news please.

see Mr. Shabir statment is fake or true or whatever it is. This is not a matter,he is trying to give useful things only. he is asking any money among you or he gave any false promise. I dont think he gave wrong message here. I am shame on my friends comments. I am not a technical person to explain that situation or analsyse the situation. as a human being just thank the message it may be false statement but dont search in depth just take a positive thing forget negative.

Dear All,
I would like to add few comments from technical point. I am list bother whether it is a story or Hoax mail/story.
The technicalaties goes like this.
1. Joshi is standing on a oil tanker which was park for long. This tanker has created an flammable medium around it spere.
2. The 25KV/40KV line distance from the tanker top is design keeping in mind the normal air as dia-electric.
3. The clicking of photo in the flammable media has created possible spark and further flame which has reduce the media resistance ( flammable media).
4. This reduction in resistance has broke down the di-electric media above tanker and short circuited the 25/40KV line which trip the MCB at control pannel.
All this has happned in fraction of second . The cause is spark. Many think the cause is 25/40KV line. No it is secondary (powerfull) reason.

@Balaji,
While the incident posted by Shabbir may be True or False, I strongly disagree with your suggestion to take it on face value.
What separates humans from animals and other living beings on this earth is our thinking capability. Our thinking ability, quest for knowledge enhancement and betterment of life results in questioning the current situation, facts and validating them.
Science has researched that most of the animals & plants have become extinct or remained as they are for 1000s of years, barring few evolutions. However, the human race has advanced tremendously over these years and the same is reflected in the difference in quality of living of the Stone age man and the current generation.
Its important to promote scientific & logical reasoning by questioning the status quo and validating every statement so that we base our judgements on facts instead of fiction or hearsay.
Lets do the same on this board.
